WHAT’S NEW IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
WYNNEFIELD STATION RECONSTRUCTION
The Wynnefield SEPTA train station renovation project is near completion. By Thanksgiving 2018 our community will have one of the most beautiful, state of the art facilities in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. In addition to improvements to the trains station, the WRA along with Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. negotiated with SEPTA to make dramatic changes to the area outside the platform. This will include better signage, landscaping, power wash and pointing of stone walls; installation of a gravel gap under the bridge, security cameras under the bridge & the station; and repainting the entire trestle among other things. We also negotiated to have the SEPTA trestle at the foot of Bryn Mawr Avenue get some much needed improvements as well. Stay tuned for the ribbon cutting ceremony this fall.
