WYNNEFIELD FOCUS

Volume 08, Issue 1

WYNNEFIELD HISTORICAL SOCIETY FOUNDED
During the year leading up to the WRA’s 50th anniversary in May 2006, a Historical Committee was formed and met to plan for the publication of a booklet on the history of Wynnefield and the Wynnefield Residents Association.

Volunteers who joined the committee chose topics on which to do research for the history. The committee met regularly from the fall of 2005 to the spring of
2006, during which time the members decided to change the name of the committee to the Wynnefield Historical Society, which, after the publication of the booklet, would continue to study subjects related to Wynnefield’s history and to publish articles in the FOCUS, the WRA’s newsletter.

Copies of the historical booklet are still available and can be purchased in the WRA office in the John C.
Anderson Cultural Center, 5301 Overbrook Avenue.

If you wish to order copies for your block Club for as little as $1.00 a copy, please call the WRA Office at 215- 878-0571. Those who are interested in joining the Wynnefield Historical Society may call Dick O’Malley at 215-878-5182.
